This October half term, win a family ticket to the annual Light Spectacular event at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR). A fantastic outing for the whole family, the hugely popular audio and visual sensory experience will depart from Pickering station every evening during October Half-Term, from the 22nd to the 30th October 2022, at 6pm and 7.45pm. The prize for this interactive family fun-filled journey pulled by a heritage steam train, includes pre-booked seats on an hour-long illuminated experience from Pickering to Levisham station; to keep you entertained, the NYMR’s compère, TV’s ‘Voice Over Man’, will be on hand to get you in the party mood. 

Passengers also become part of the show with a synchronised flashing wristband which they’ll wear for the duration of the journey.  With carriages adorned with 17,000 LEDs, from the moment you enter the platform, spot the train and then climb on board, the whole family will be fully immersed in colour, light and sound that will get you dancing in your seat.

More than just a family outing, rest assured that when visiting the NYMR, every penny you spend on tickets, tea, cake and memorabilia goes back into necessary funding towards providing memorable experiences for visitors, fulfilment for volunteers and staff of the heritage railway to ensure all charitable aims are being delivered. This means you’ll be contributing directly to the running of the NYMR as a dedicated charity.
